Requirements
Must:
- Profound understanding of TCP/IP networking principles, including IPv4/IPv6 routing, subnetting, and network topology design
- Experience in implementing and deploying network routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, or other IGRPs/EGRPs in dynamic environments
- Knowledge of the operational aspects of link-state and distance-vector routing protocols at scale
- Familiarity with network simulation and testing tools for validating routing protocols
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software language
- 5+ years in leading design or architecture of both new and existing systems
- Demonstrated experience as a mentor or tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field is preferred
- Experience with full software development life cycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
- Proficient in systems programming languages (C, C++, or Rust) for performance-sensitive networking applications
- Understanding of embedded systems and resource-limited environments
- Experience with satellite communications, mesh networks, or networks with dynamic topologies
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or legally admissible in the U.S. with appropriate status for compliance with export control laws.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers throughout the organization to collect requirements, design, develop, deploy, and manage solution pipelines
- Design and construct solutions necessary for provisioning, address management, packet inspection, and dynamic traffic management within the Amazon LEO network
- Engage in initiatives that develop networking functions utilizing AWS infrastructure and integrated devices
- Participate in the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of services that empower broadband network systems on a global scale
- Write code, debug, and innovate to create cutting-edge products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable, flexible, low-latency, high-throughput network functionalities
- Understand user requirements from an end-user perspective to enhance service delivery and functionality.
