Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
- I have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Application Engineer working with CAD tools such as Mentor Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, or Altium Designer.
- I have at least 5 years of experience with both frontend (design tools) and backend (ECAD library/design database, server infrastructure).
- I bring 5 years of experience in Enterprise Tool administration, including debugging and resolving client and server-side application issues, as well as software installation and configuration.
- I have spent at least 3 years developing and documenting engineering processes related to ECAD tools and engineering activities.
Responsibilities
As an ECAD Tools Application Engineer, I will ensure the provision of a stable and reliable suite of Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) tools and database management for electrical engineering design, layout, and simulation engineers. I will anticipate tool requirements, support users, and develop processes that facilitate the successful and swift development of our state-of-the-art low Earth orbit satellite constellation.
In my daily role, I will tackle pressing issues, contribute to building a strong foundation for the future, and keep abreast of the latest technologies and methods to optimize tool performance. My tasks will include collaborating with end users to resolve project challenges, crafting proposals and documentation for future infrastructure needs to support team scalability, automating processes to enhance development efficiency, and researching novel tools or technologies to boost design rigor and productivity.
Description
I am a part of the ECAD team, which supports tools and infrastructure for Electrical Engineering, PCB Design, Library Management, and interfaces with our Enterprise systems, including PLM, ERP, and manufacturing tools. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in Electrical Engineering design. - Background as an Application Engineer for Mentor Xpedition and Mentor EDM. - Skills in automating ECAD workflows/processes. - Proficiency in supporting Hyperlynx, Ansys, Reliance, and other engineering applications. - Familiarity with Windows servers, Batch scripts, PowerShell, Windows file servers, and Hyper-V. - Knowledge of Linux servers, including Bash scripts, cron, ssh, samba, etc. - Experience with PLM systems and engineering lifecycle management workflows. - Understanding of network fundamentals, such as switching and routing. - Experience with flexlm license servers. - Understanding of LDAP and SAML for user management and authentication. - Expertise in architecting AWS infrastructure and managing server and workstation implementations.
