Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor's degree.
- I have 4+ years of relevant hands-on systems development experience.
- I possess 4+ years of experience leading a high-performing engineering, operations, or systems administration team.
- I have 6+ years of experience as an Engineering people manager.
- I currently hold an active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
Responsibilities
- I own and grow a team of skilled Engineers providing development and operational support for critical software infrastructure components.
- I actively manage hiring and developing the best talent for my team while maintaining a high bar in line with Amazon Leadership Principles.
- I adapt quickly to new development environments and changing business requirements, learning new systems and finding creative, scalable solutions to complex problems.
- I lead the hiring of quality personnel who fit our organizational needs and allow our team to scale with platform and service growth.
- I coordinate with our recruiting staff to evaluate potential candidates, participate in initial phone screens, and provide guidance and feedback during on-site interviews.
- As a Manager within the AWS team, I drive operational excellence by creating and automating processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
- I provide technical guidance and coaching to my team to overcome challenges and drive continuous improvement.
- I develop and drive the organization’s strategy, mentoring and developing engineers to enhance their ability to deliver results.
