Requirements
Must:
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering
- 8+ years of experience in leading the definition and development of mult-tier web services
- Experience collaborating with product or program management teams
- Solid understanding of engineering practices and patterns throughout the complete software/hardware/network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
- Experience in effective communication with users, technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements, outline software product features, technical designs, and product strategies
- Proven experience in recruiting, mentoring, and managing software engineers to enhance their skills and increase their effectiveness
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
- Leadership experience in influencing team dynamics or contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems, including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling strategies
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for leading and developing a database software development team, challenging conventional assumptions to innovate our cloud database services
- Foster a culture of creativity and support your team of engineers to maximize their potential and professional growth
- Mentor skilled software engineers, engage in technical work, and provide guidance on complex technical challenges, design choices, and prioritization of features and schedules
- Collaborate with senior executives to establish business objectives and resource needs, influencing both technical and business strategies
- Define pioneering products while demonstrating the capability to hire and lead a talented team
