Requirements
Must:
- Over 3 years of experience managing engineering teams
- More than 7 years of engineering experience
- At least 8 years of experience leading the development of multi-tier web services
- Minimum of 3 years in roles such as Software Engineer or Software Developer
- Over 1 year of providing technical leadership and project management throughout the software development lifecycle
- At least 1 year of experience developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++
- Over 1 year of experience with service-oriented architecture in distributed software systems
- More than 1 year of experience in distributed programming for large-scale systems
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Familiarity with engineering practices for the entire software, hardware, and networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing procedures
- Experience collaborating with product or program management teams
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a team of software development engineers dedicated to RPM package maintenance, building, testing, and releasing core components
- Manage the technical roadmap, architecture, and execution of packaging pipelines, ensuring they are secure and optimized for performance on AWS
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including kernel engineers and security teams, to prioritize features and address customer challenges
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineering talent while fostering an inclusive team culture focused on innovation
- Partner with product management and stakeholders to establish priorities based on customer needs
- Influence the long-term strategy for Amazon Linux packaging, including tools and processes
- Ensure high standards of operational excellence, including monitoring and incident response
- Effectively communicate with senior leadership regarding progress, risks, and technical designs
