Requirements
Must:
- 4+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience (includes design patterns, reliability, and scaling for new and existing systems)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems, embedded systems, consumer devices, or mobile applications
- 6+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis) (preferred)
- 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience (preferred)
- Masters degree in computer science or related field (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Engage in hands-on software development including software design reviews, implementation, code reviews, and new platform enablement
- Develop automated tests to ensure your code operates correctly at scale
- Collaborate closely with Principal engineers from EC2, silicon designers, hardware engineers, and internal/external partners to create robust and scalable firmware update mechanisms across the fleet
- Contribute to the development of tools and processes for measuring firmware performance, qualification, monitoring, and deployment across all EC2 platforms
