Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for candidates with an Associate's degree or above, or certifications such as Cloud+, GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials), or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner).
- I require at least 5 years of Linux systems administration experience.
- Candidates should have 5 years of experience working with a scripting language.
- I prefer individuals who have acted as a technical lead for a team of engineers.
- It is mandatory that the selected candidate holds and maintains a current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Responsibilities
- As a Senior Cloud Engineer on my Cross Domain Operations team, your key job responsibilities will include leading operational excellence initiatives for mission-critical systems, focusing on availability, resiliency, and security.
- You will diagnose and resolve complex system issues across the full technology stack in high-pressure situations.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, including automating manual tasks and implementing scaling solutions, will be a significant aspect of your role.
- Conducting thorough post-incident analyses and implementing preventive measures to avoid issue recurrence will be required.
- You will partner with development teams to influence system design and architecture decisions impacting operational stability.
- You'll be tasked with performing technical deep-dives into service design, operating systems, networking, storage, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency will be crucial.
- Mentoring team members on operational best practices and resilience engineering principles will also be one of your responsibilities.

A typical day will involve leading operational reviews, collaborating with customer leads, mentoring colleagues on complex technical challenges, participating in design reviews, and handling post-incident analyses. Our team culture fosters technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement as we maintain and optimize AWS cross-domain services critical to national security.
