Requirements
Must:
- Over 3 years of experience in engineering team management
- More than 7 years working directly with engineering teams
- At least 3 years of experience in designing or architecting systems (including design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
- Over 8 years leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
- Solid understanding of engineering practices for the complete software/hardware/network development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Proven experience in collaborating with product or program management teams
- Preferred: Experience in engaging with users and technical teams, as well as senior leadership for requirements collection, software product features, technical designs, and product strategies
- Preferred: Background in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams to enhance skills and effectiveness
Responsibilities
- Guide and support a team of software engineers in developing and maintaining critical load balancing infrastructure for customer applications
- Promote technical excellence through code evaluations, architecture discussions, and the adoption of best engineering practices
- Work closely with product managers to establish roadmaps and prioritize features that boost ELBs scalability, reliability, and performance
- Oversee project management throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring punctual delivery while upholding high-quality standards
- Introduce metrics-driven development processes to enhance team efficiency and product quality
- Collaborate with operations teams to guarantee 24/7 availability of ELB services and lead incident responses when required
- Recruit outstanding engineering talent and foster team member development through regular feedback and growth opportunities
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Cultivate operational excellence through automation improvements, monitoring enhancements, and minimizing technical debt
- Work alongside various teams to ensure seamless integration of ELB with other AWS services
