Software Development Manager, EC2 Security Services

Requirements
Must:
- 3+ years of experience in managing engineering teams
- 7+ years of direct involvement within engineering teams
- 3+ years in designing or architecting new and existing systems focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability
- 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
- Knowledge of comprehensive engineering practices and patterns throughout the software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
- Experience collaborating with product or program management teams
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 8-12 Software Development Engineers dedicated to EC2 server provisioning and infrastructure delivery
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide ongoing feedback, and drive the career advancement of team members
- Recruit, onboard, and cultivate top engineering talent to align with organizational objectives
- Foster a diverse team culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence
- Own the technical roadmap and overseeing the delivery of EC2 provisioning systems for Trainium UltraServer Platforms
- Make architectural decisions to efficiently and reliably provision and maintain Amazons expanding EC2 UltraServer fleet
- Collaborate with senior leadership and fellow SDMs to synchronize team priorities with broader EC2 organizational goals
- Partner closely with Principal Engineers and Senior Software Development Engineers to establish technical standards and best practices
- Drive continuous enhancement in software development methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment automation
- Advocate for operational metrics and strategies to enhance system reliability, minimize toil, and expedite delivery
- Balance immediate delivery needs with long-term technical debt management and system modernization
- Work with customers, peers, and Technical Program Managers to execute the product roadmap
- Manage the EC2 Supply Chain Security Services, a suite of essential services in Data Centers and Manufacturing designed to verify capacity and host health
- Oversee and support production issues and tickets to ensure smooth operations
