Requirements

Must:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

- I will solve complex and ambiguous problems efficiently and with high-quality. - I will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, development, and operationalization of customer-facing services. - I will be given an outcome and the freedom to set the direction based on data-driven decisions. - I will be part of a team that shapes the automation future in networking. - I will develop DevOps and automation tasks for test infrastructure. - I will use and develop tools and processes that collect and rationalize data from different sources and frameworks that reduce workloads. - I will use data to measure success and take responsibility for the quality of my service and strive to prevent faults from impacting customers. - I will develop best-in-class software systems for automating Amazon's network. - I will work closely with the Network Engineering teams to ensure fast and smooth software roll-outs. - I will identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues with effective escalation to senior-level engineering teams. - I will learn, design, and build cloud-computing system software for a diverse set of customers. - I will gather requirements and generate technical designs with customers and carry projects through all software lifecycle stages. - I will utilize strong leadership and communication skills to mentor other engineers and support our technologies.

Description

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Network Product Development (NPD) team within the AWS Core Networking Organization. This role involves interacting with customers, leadership, and senior peers to automate and invent new operational methods for Amazon's network. Our team is dedicated to building Data Centers and ensuring our network operates efficiently, balancing efficiency, performance, and reliability for our customers' access to applications and data.
