Requirements
Must:
- 6+ years of experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
- 6+ years of engineering experience in mission-critical environments, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Proficient in researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
- Familiar with local codes, NFPA standards, ICC requirements, and fire protection industry practices
- Licensed Fire Protection Engineer
Responsibilities
- Influence all aspects of fire protection design, construction, operations, and maintenance for global data centers
- Perform and oversee project-related tasks such as water supply analysis and designing fire water service
- Coordinate space requirements for fire protection systems and related utilities
- Prepare detailed construction specifications for fire protection trades
- Develop prescriptive designs for fire suppression, alarm, and detection systems
- Ensure compliance with design standards and fire protection requirements
- Act as the subject matter expert for contractors and operational teams
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including design and construction teams, to meet project goals
- Review and provide feedback on concept designs and ongoing projects to ensure they adhere to established standards
- Prepare and approve performance-based design elements as needed
