Requirements
Must:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline or mechanical or electrical trades.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a data center or critical environment.
- At least 5 years of Facilities Management experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of High Voltage Sub-Station (HVSS) experience.
- At least 3 years of program or project management experience, utilizing metrics to establish requirements and track the health of programs/projects.
- Preferred qualifications include operating engineering licenses such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent, as well as stationary engineering or building engineering licenses, electrical or mechanical journeyman licenses, CFC license, and NFPA 70E certification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, alongside solid leadership and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, including HVSS.
- Operate independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Serve as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Develop and implement new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs), Chief Engineers (CEs), and vendor support teams.
- Provide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and Facility Managers (FMs).
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed by both vendor and Amazon staff.
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance cluster-wide performance by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that improve the overall employee experience.
- Work cross-functionally to define strategies and goals, while securing commitment to timelines and deliverables.
