Requirements
Must:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience without internships
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience with systems reliability and scaling
- Proficiency in embedded development using C/C++
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices for the entire software development lifecycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- 3+ years experience with complete software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations (preferred)
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field (preferred)
- Understanding of ARM CPUs (preferred)
- Experience in developing low-level drivers (preferred)
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, UART (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design and create firmware solutions for AWS servers that support millions of customer workloads
- Oversee the entire development process from initial idea to production deployment, ensuring firmware implementations are both robust and scalable
- Develop and implement firmware deployment strategies that minimize impact on customers while ensuring high security and operational standards
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and validation engineers, and software services to enhance functionality and performance
- Research and assess emerging technologies to understand their potential effects on AWS infrastructure, and make recommendations for their integration
- Provide technical solutions to balancing security needs, operational efficiencies, and system reliability
- Customize firmware solutions for the AWS environment, ensuring smooth integration with operational workflows and infrastructure requirements
- Guide and mentor team members, while contributing to the ongoing enhancement of development processes, tools, and best practices
