Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in delivering network projects.
- At least 2 years of experience with optical troubleshooting, installation, and deployment. Familiarity with network cabling, optical types, and testing equipment such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
- Strong collaborative skills to work with our Network Engineering and Network Technical Project Manager teams to facilitate the swift rollout of new designs and products.
- Proven ability to work with various stakeholders to overcome project obstacles and propel initiatives forward.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure routers, switches, and DWDM hardware.
- Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, along with network installations and configurations.
- Coordinate colocation remote hands for new capacity installations and address any network issues.
- Resolve colocation facility challenges and identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues.
- Participate in small to mid-sized projects for the creation or expansion of colocation sites.
- Cultivate relationships with remote facilities to ensure prompt responses to events.
- Conduct site audits to maintain AWS's safety and quality standards.
- Enhance all operational processes within each site and/or cage.
- Update AWS tools and provide status updates to stakeholders through internal platforms.
- Collaborate with partner teams for the decommissioning of cabling and network hardware as necessary.
- This role requires physical capability to lift and rack equipment weighing up to 40 lbs, may involve working in confined spaces or elevated positions while adhering to health and safety protocols.
- The position may involve up to 60% travel, predominantly local, but may also include occasional international travel.
