Requirements
Must:
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or a Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years in people management
- At least 2 years of experience in operations and on-call support for data center facilities or similar high-stakes environments
- 2+ years of expertise in computer hardware, particularly in troubleshooting and repairs (preferred)
- Familiarity with technical writing in relevant fields (preferred)
- Relevant certifications such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or Certified Network Defender (CND) (preferred)
- Experience using system management tools and working in client/server environments (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Oversee and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Manage the performance of diverse teams of data center operations professionals across multiple locations
- Create and implement career development paths for team members, along with updates to internal tools
- Recruit and train data technicians to maintain optimal staffing levels
- Ensure efficient day-to-day management of data center operations, including queue management and shift arrangements
- Quickly learn and act as a subject matter expert on all facets of data center operations
- Measure and ensure compliance with all operational KPIs and metrics
- Inspire improvements in team processes, technological innovations, and automation efforts
- Lead the response and management of large-scale events such as outages
- Refine and enhance workflows and throughput for data center operations
- Recommend, document, and enforce policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and necessary SLAs
- Maintain the on-call schedule to coordinate absences and vacations
- Exhibit enthusiasm for the quality and efficiency of services provided and consistently strive to enhance the customer experience
