Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of management experience with at least 5 direct reports
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in a data center or similar critical environment, with knowledge of UPS, Generators, HVAC, and other infrastructure
- Alternatively, 7+ years of technical training or experience (military or trade school)
- Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications, or a Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering field is preferred
- At least 7 years of experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities focusing on building and equipment operation
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data center operations, such as feeders, transformers, switchgear, and UPS systems
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, including technical writing or business justification expertise
Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of critical physical infrastructure within the data center, ensuring high availability and performance
- Supervise teams of technicians and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to established practices and safety protocols
- Cultivate a culture of safety and security within the team
- Hire, mentor, and evaluate team members, focusing on their career development
- Foster a positive team environment and boost morale
- Oversee operational budgets and manage expenditures efficiently
- Participate in improvement initiatives, collaborating with various support teams from start to finish
- Serve as an escalation point for facilities-related issues and oversee the management of routine and emergency services for critical systems
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting when necessary
- Be available for out-of-hours emergency calls
- Support multiple locations as needed
- Assist in building new facilities and projects aimed at enhancing current efficiency
- Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other administrative tools for daily tasks
