Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of relevant leadership experience in data center operations, facility engineering, or critical environment IT facilities
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven success in executing complex analytical and quantitative projects with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated capability to recruit, mentor, and lead high-performing technical teams across various locations
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and controls systems in critical infrastructures (preferred)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma (preferred)
- Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure components, including server platforms and IT service delivery best practices (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage, and nurture the operations team, including compute and engineering operations managers
- Meet or exceed organizational targets related to safety, security, availability, scaling, efficiency, and cost
- Strategically plan and implement Infrastructure Operations for new Data Centers and Colocation projects
- Oversee the operation and upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems within Amazon Data Centers, ensuring preventive, corrective, and change management practices
- Coordinate with Colocation Data Center service providers to fulfill or surpass performance SLAs
- Lead responses and resolutions to safety, security, and availability incidents
- Continuously enhance operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools
