Requirements
Must:
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience or a Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in people management
- 2+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for data center facilities or similar environments
- Practical knowledge of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Familiarity with technical writing in a relevant domain
- Attainment of certification in relevant areas such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or equivalent credentials like CND or Security+
- Experience with system management tools and client/server environments
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of a Data Center
- Assign and prioritize trouble tickets for data center technicians and operators
- Evaluate and manage the performance of diverse teams across multiple locations
- Create career development pathways for employees and update internal tools accordingly
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure optimal staffing levels
- Maintain efficient management of day-to-day data center functions including shift arrangements and hardware logistics
- Quickly adapt or act as a subject matter expert in all aspects of data center operations
- Monitor and ensure compliance with operational KPIs and metrics
- Encourage and guide process improvements, technological innovations, and automation initiatives
- Lead response efforts for large-scale outages as the call leader
- Enhance workflows and throughput in data center operations
- Recommend and enforce policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and required SLAs
- Coordinate on-call schedules, managing absences and vacations
- Demonstrate a commitment to service quality and continuously seek to enhance customer experience
