Requirements
Must:
- 4 years of experience in Information Technology (IT) or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a similar field
- 2 years of management experience overseeing personnel
- 2 years of experience in operations and on-call support within data center facilities, mission-critical operations, or production environments
- Experience with Linux systems administration and/or development is preferred
- Knowledge of network design and low voltage cabling (copper/fiber)
- Familiarity with computer architecture, along with troubleshooting and debugging hardware
- Proven ability to write and distribute technical documentation
- Experience in program or project management is a plus
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational responsibility of a Data Center
- Assign and prioritize trouble tickets for data center technicians and operators
- Manage the performance of diverse teams of data center operation professionals across various locations
- Develop career progression pathways for team members and update our internal tools accordingly
- Recruit and train new data technicians to maintain adequate staffing
- Ensure efficient management of daily data center operations, including queue oversight, shift scheduling, and hardware logistics
- Act as a subject matter expert in various areas of data center operations
- Monitor and meet all operational KPIs and metrics
- Drive improvements in team processes, foster technological innovation, and enhance automation
- Lead management during large-scale events (outages) and serve as the primary contact
- Optimize workflows and throughput within data center operations
- Recommend, document, and implement policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and SLAs
- Maintain the on-call schedule while coordinating absences and vacations
- Exhibit a strong commitment to service quality and continual enhancement of our customer experience
