Requirements
Must:
- Technical training or a degree in a relevant field (e.g., electrical, mechanical).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical or mechanical roles.
- At least 3 years of experience in data center or mission-critical facilities (such as hospitals, military facilities, or public safety facilities).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary escalation contact for all facilities-related matters, overseeing the operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and building monitoring systems.
- Conduct root cause analyses of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility operations within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Provide training and mentorship to Engineering Operations Technicians and collaborate with the Facility Manager to cultivate team culture.
- Develop and implement new best practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams.
- Assist in constructing new facilities and enhancing the efficiency of existing ones when needed.
- Be available to work outside of normal business hours for routine maintenance and respond to after-hours emergencies.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to a non-technical audience.
- Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and enhance plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures for both vendor and Amazon staff.
- Establish performance benchmarks for the building, conduct analyses, and prepare comprehensive reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other administrative tools to accomplish daily tasks.
