Requirements
Must:
- Technical diploma from a military or trade school, or an Associate's degree with one year of experience related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical or mechanical operations experience.
- At least 1 year of experience working with computer components and operating systems.
- At least 1 year of experience with mission-critical low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Preferred: One year of experience working in a Data Center or mission-critical environment.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Preferred: International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher certification.
- Preferred: Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
Responsibilities
- Support multiple Data Centers by deploying, servicing, and upgrading Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
- Mentor and train Facilities team members on BMS and EPMS operation and control.
- Audit, maintain, and manage computer enterprise asset management systems for BMS and EPMS installations.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects and programs.
- Conduct point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain programming code and hardware associated with BMS and EPMS systems.
- Provision servers, controllers, industrial PCs, and network configurations while testing communication between third-party devices and controllers or servers.
- Install, replace, configure, and calibrate sensors.
- Read and understand electrical schematics and control panel drawings, with a basic understanding of closed loop controls, field sensor scaling, and functions of industrial controllers.
- Supervise low voltage electrical contractors for compliant wiring and installation of field devices.
- Provide commissioning and systems level testing support.
- Create red-lined drawings and documentation of systems.
- Follow change management processes to generate work requests and methods of procedures.
- Participate in factory witnessed tests at vendor facilities.
- Recommend design improvements based on user consultations and system operation.
- Perform root cause analysis during testing and commissioning.
- Ensure safety methodologies are followed by all personnel on site.
- Work on-call and on a rotating schedule as required, responding to after-hours emergencies.
- Manage service agreements including vendor labor scheduling, quality assurance, and financial invoice review.
