Requirements
Must:
- At least 3 years in a relevant technical role, or 2+ years of professional or military experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience with electrical or mechanical systems
- A background of 3 years in data center or mission-critical facilities such as hospitals, military bases, or public safety facilities
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience in data center engineering
- Preferred: An Associates degree or Bachelors degree
- Preferred: Experience in leadership roles
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of escalation for all issues related to facilities
- Oversee routine and emergency services for various critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and cooling equipment
- Analyze root causes of equipment failures and troubleshoot facilities within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Offer training and support to Engineering Operations Technicians, collaborating with the Facility Manager to establish team culture
- Develop and implement new standard procedures for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams
- Assist in the construction of new facilities and projects aimed at enhancing current facility efficiency
- Be available for routine maintenance outside of standard business hours, including emergencies
- Communicate intricate technical information to audiences without technical backgrounds
- Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects and optimize safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols by vendors and Amazon employees
- Set performance benchmarks for buildings, conduct analyses, and prepare operational and maintenance reports
- Utilize basic administrative tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily tasks
- Meet physical requirements including lifting, balancing on ladders, and performing various physical tasks within reasonable accommodations
