Requirements
Must:
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as necessary
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until the assigned facility is operational
- Travel frequency will vary based on business requirements and the operational status of the assigned facility
- Must be capable of traveling (over 50 miles) or commuting (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as business needs dictate
- 18+ months of experience in troubleshooting computer/server hardware or related IT tasks
- 18+ months of experience with computer layer 1/2 networking (inclusive of troubleshooting and repairs)
- Bachelors degree or equivalent professional/military background in an IT-related discipline (e.g., computer science, network engineering, etc.) – preferred
- Familiarity with industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) – preferred
- Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems – preferred
- Experience in training and onboarding new team members – preferred
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience – preferred
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds, working in confined or elevated areas, and standing/walking for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Conducting server rack installations, performing hardware repairs on various components, and troubleshooting network issues
- Responding to operational incidents that affect service availability and performing routine repairs on network, server hardware, and operating systems
- Serving as the primary liaison for both internal and external stakeholders including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
- Participating in on-call duties and engaging in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
- Contributing to documentation and enhancing processes based on operational analysis
- Assisting in interviewing, training, and onboarding new team members
- Taking ownership of technical matters raised by our customers and coordinating with other teams as needed for resolutions
- Maintaining service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting
- Demonstrating initiative in the absence of guidance or support
- Continuously improving effectiveness through process innovation
