Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Currently enrolled in a Data Center Operations Certificate/Associate Degree program at Northern Virginia Community College with an expected graduation date of Summer 2026
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience managing tasks and priorities through a ticketing system (preferred)
- Completion of STEM classes or vocational courses, particularly in electrical or mechanical principles, including HVAC (preferred)
- Demonstrates Amazons leadership principles and meets functional/technical requirements for the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the upkeep of mechanical and electrical systems throughout data center operations
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment efficiency and potential issues
- Engage in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level operational incidents
- Document and review daily operations metrics and readings
- Collaborate with diverse teams to facilitate infrastructure engineering projects
Description
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we design, plan, and manage all aspects of our global infrastructure, ensuring that our customers have uninterrupted access to cloud innovations. We are looking for Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) intern technicians for a 6-month internship beginning January 2026 at our Northern Virginia facilities. This role provides a unique opportunity to work alongside a skilled team of engineers and specialists, contributing to essential operations while promoting personal development through mentorship and structured training programs. We foster an inclusive environment that values diverse experiences and perspectives, offering flexible scheduling to align with academic commitments. Potential for full-time employment exists upon successful completion of the internship.
