Requirements
Must:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Certifications in Electronic Engineering/Technology preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in OEM-level troubleshooting and repair for telecommunications systems.
- Experience with telecommunications carriers and/or OEMs preferred.
- Familiarity with working under both documented and undocumented procedures preferred.
- Proficiency with EMS systems, network management, and monitoring tools.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex network issues across various platforms and identify root causes.
- Expert understanding of telecommunications systems and protocols, including Nokia 7450, ESS 7750, SR 7950, XRS, Switched Ethernet, MPLS, and IP services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and guidelines.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Competence with computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in training and mentoring team members.
- Willingness to be available for on-call support and non-standard work hours as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level remote technical support for a wide array of telecommunications platforms.
- Conduct advanced and intermediate troubleshooting, including for systems lacking established protocols.
- Use specialized knowledge to diagnose root causes and restore services effectively.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for telecommunications systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Test and validate new telecommunications equipment and software updates.
- Log all troubleshooting, testing, and research activities in a ticketing system.
- Respond to incidents promptly, performing root cause analysis and documenting findings.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in telecommunications technology.
- Recommend enhancements and upgrades to systems as appropriate.
- Offer technical guidance, mentoring, and support to fellow team members.
