Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Deduction Management, or related financial functions, ideally with retail clients.
- Proven track record in leading or supporting process improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and implement projects that yield significant financial or operational benefits.
- Strong grasp of accounting principles and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization tools (such as Power BI or Tableau) is an advantage.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across departments and with external partners.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and the capacity to constructively challenge existing processes.
- Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations, validations, and resolutions of retail customer deductions through detailed analysis of invoices, purchase orders, remittances, and shipment records.
- Examine deductions related to promotional allowance programs to ensure compliance with established plans.
- Maintain meticulous, audit-ready records of all deduction activities within the Deduction Management System.
- Proactively identify recurring issues or patterns in deductions; work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and IT teams to propose and execute corrective measures.
- Oversee the accrual process pertaining to promotional allowances and outstanding deductions.
- Lead or contribute to ongoing improvement projects aimed at optimizing the deduction management process and boosting overall Accounts Receivable performance.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for invalid deductions and liaise with customers to facilitate resolution and reimbursement.
- Ensure timely resolution of outstanding items in alignment with key performance indicators and financial objectives of the business unit.
- Collaborate with internal partners to understand customer compliance guidelines, minimizing avoidable deductions.
- Conduct root cause analysis on deduction activities to discover gaps in processes, inefficiencies, or revenue loss.
- Support or lead initiatives aimed at reducing costs by identifying ways to enhance cash flow and decrease write-offs.
- Manage or assist in cross-functional projects influencing deduction resolution or customer claims processing.
- Execute reconciliations and validate deduction data against system reports to safeguard financial accuracy.
- Uphold accurate records and comply with company retention and compliance policies.
- Undertake additional tasks as required.
