Requirements
Must:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or platform roles
- Proven experience in designing and supporting large-scale distributed systems
- Extensive hands-on expertise in Java and/or JavaScript
- Familiarity with API design and service-oriented architectures
- Proficiency in operating applications within cloud environments (preferably AWS)
- Capability to guide teams through architectural considerations
- Background in regulated or risk-aware enterprise environments
Responsibilities
- Design and enhance scalable, reliable platform architectures that support various engineering teams
- Lead architecture and design frameworks for customer service and communication platforms
- Serve as a technical authority for design choices, trade-offs, and integration strategies
- Offer technical advice and enablement to teams
- Evaluate and provide insights on APIs, system designs, and event-driven integrations
- Occasionally write code (around 5–10%) to validate designs or assist teams
- Collaborate with security, operations, and application teams to ensure production readiness
- Mentor senior engineers and help influence technical direction without direct authority
- Ensure alignment of technical solutions with business and technology roadmaps
- Assess new technologies and apply industry standards accordingly
- Build trust and influence among engineering directors, principal engineers, and design leaders to shape priorities and practices
- Share valuable insights about emerging technologies with the broader engineering community
- Act as a thought leader, challenging assumptions and considering future impacts of technical decisions
