Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.
- At least 2 years of experience in building and deploying machine learning or natural language processing models (such as transformers, extraction models, or classical ML).
- Proficient in Python (with experience in FastAPI, Pandas, Pydantic, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, etc.).
- Proven capability in constructing real-world data scrapers, ETL pipelines, or automated data ingestion systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerized deployment processes.
- Strong fundamentals in data modeling, error handling, and observability.
- A demonstrable GitHub account or portfolio showcasing real projects or deployed systems.
- Ability to work autonomously, make architectural decisions, and meet established deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Design, automate, and maintain high-volume data ingestion pipelines for municipal permit portals.
- Create robust scrapers, API connectors, and systems for parsing structured and unstructured data.
- Implement validation, normalization, deduplication, and quality control for jurisdiction-level data.
- Develop and deploy machine learning and natural language processing models for field extraction, classification, anomaly detection, and error detection.
- Establish automated testing and retraining workflows.
- Architect scalable backend systems (preferably in Python) with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes.
- Ensure observability, logging, and monitoring for the health of data pipelines and freshness of data.
- Maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines as well as versioned infrastructure.
- Meet performance milestones tied to equity awards, and produce high-quality demos for investors showcasing jurisdiction coverage and model accuracy.
- Document architecture diagrams and deployment workflows effectively.
