Requirements
Must:
- Extensive knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, routing, switching, firewalls, and IPSec VPN.
- Proficiency with JUNOS (Juniper router OS), Palo Alto Networks, and/or Cisco networking equipment.
- Experience with a programming or scripting language.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to convey complex technical information to customers, teammates, and organizational staff.
- Consistent application of business etiquette in all communications with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
- Effective task management and follow-through, including appropriate escalation of unresolved matters and persistence to guarantee resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Proven ability to execute challenging IT projects across various organizations.
- Information Technology experience in system administration, upgrades, and maintenance within medium to large infrastructure environments, including Service Provider, Data Center, and Enterprise networks.
- Capability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (Network Hardware).
- Preparedness for occasional travel to work with the team and clients nationwide, with travel limits of 25%.
- Availability to work after hours and on weekends for scheduled projects and emergency situations, including participation in a regular after-hours on-call rotation schedule.
Responsibilities
- I seek a Managed Services Engineer who strives to maximize quality output and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction in delivering managed IT services.
- As part of our team, which includes Senior Managed Services Engineering, Service Delivery Coordination, and Customer Success Management, you will work to efficiently resolve issues with high accuracy.
- I expect you to perform extensive technical computing and information systems support, including installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on networking devices and infrastructure services such as Routing and Switching, Firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- You will diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures using established procedures.
- I encourage you to identify and recommend improvements to the infrastructure to enhance network quality, performance, security, and reliability.
- Assisting in the design and planning of network infrastructure will also be part of your role.
- Taking ownership of issues and driving them to complete resolution is essential.
