Requirements
Must:
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking, including TCP/IP protocols and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Proficient with network security tools, including Cisco routers/switches and ASA firewalls
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, particularly NIST standards, ISO 27000 series, and FedRAMP
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms like Splunk or SolarWinds for log analysis
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks
- Knowledge of encryption technologies and experience with identity and access management solutions
- Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and system hardening across various operating systems
Responsibilities
- Lead vulnerability management programs, executing assessments to pinpoint security weaknesses in IT infrastructure including LAN, WAN, SAN, and cloud environments
- Develop, implement, and maintain system security plans (SSPs) in line with ISO 27000 standards and regulatory frameworks such as FISMA and DIACAP
- Monitor network security using SIEM tools to swiftly identify and respond to threats while analyzing logs for suspicious activities
- Manage network security devices including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and VPNs, and configure routing protocols to ensure secure network optimization
- Coordinate incident response activities, applying best practices in cybersecurity and conducting forensic analysis
- Fortify systems by applying hardening standards to various operating systems, utilizing tools for enhanced security
- Collaborate with teams on cloud architecture projects across platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, ensuring adherence to security policies
