Requirements
Must:
- Over 7 years of professional software development experience
- More than 4 years of experience in Unity development using C#
- Strong aptitude in C# beyond its use in Unity
- Proven experience leading software projects or managing small engineering groups
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies or sprint-oriented development processes
- Comprehensive understanding of:
- Modular systems architecture
- Unity application design
- Performance analysis and optimization techniques
- Version control systems, specifically Git
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of specific Unity subsystems or projects from concept through completion
- Maintain and enhance the Unity application framework
- Identify opportunities for architectural enhancements and strategies for reducing technical debt
- Ensure the performance, reliability, and maintainability of Unity systems
- Lead a team of 2-4 engineers in sprint-based development activities
- Conduct technical assessments and provide design assistance
- Convert requirements into actionable implementation plans and development tasks
- Ensure sprint goals are achievable and successfully met
- Enhance tools, workflows, and internal systems to boost developer efficiency
- Debug framework-level issues affecting multiple developers
- Coordinate solutions or upgrades across various teams
- Facilitate integration between Unity applications and external tools
- Collaborate with teams working on desktop applications and backend systems
- Participate in system-level design conversations across the organization
- Identify risks proactively and suggest mitigation plans
- Refine processes as needed while avoiding unnecessary complexities
- Provide clear communication regarding technical status and trade-offs to relevant stakeholders
