Requirements
Must:
- Over 8 years of progressive experience in the implementation, support, and management of ERP/HCM system service delivery
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with managing, configuring, or supporting a complex Workday HR payroll system, including payroll cycles, gross-to-net calculations, and tax implications
- Experience in designing, configuring, and supporting various Workday modules, preferably in Time Tracking and Absence Management
- Strong background in IT service management (ITSM) and service delivery in accordance with SLAs in an outsourced environment
- Experience in system/data migration, solution design, architecture, and managing integrations between HCM and other corporate systems
- Proven track record leading HCM implementation projects and managing inter-functional dependencies
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, or a related field (required)
- Workday Payroll, HCM, or Time Tracking module certification (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of bridging technical teams and HR functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity to interpret complex regulatory requirements (Payroll/Taxation) and business requirements (Time Management)
- Knowledge of processes within the Aerospace or Defense industry, or similarly regulated sectors (asset)
- High work ethic, excellent time management skills, and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, agile, and team-oriented environment
Responsibilities
- Contribute to defining the product roadmap, manage the complete service lifecycle (design, industrialization, operations, support), and drive system improvements focusing on Workday Payroll and Time Tracking functionalities
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Design Authority for Workday configuration in key areas, translating complex business needs (especially Payroll and Time) into effective, scalable IT solutions
- Ensure high-quality service delivery, meet agreed service levels (SLAs), manage vendor and integrator performance, and guarantee compliance with IT standards and cybersecurity requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage escalations, and foster strong partnerships with local HR and global IT counterparts to align North American demands with the global HR information systems strategy
- Conduct detailed analysis sessions for complex business requirements, emphasizing payroll processing, tax regulations, and intricate time management and absence scenarios
- Identify gaps, develop workarounds, and propose system design modifications
- Design, customize, and rigorously test HR processes within Workday and its integrations, leading configuration, testing, and rollout efforts for implementations or enhancements of modules
- Manage upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting of existing HR-related systems and applications to maintain optimal integrity and functionality
- Monitor and manage adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements (OLAs) for HR IT services
- Act as a key IT contributor to internal clients during crises or system escalations, liaising with internal/external resolution groups to ensure prompt corrective action, particularly concerning production issues impacting payroll deadlines or time entry accuracy
- Define and implement continuous improvement actions, manage cost allocation, and collaborate with other IT areas to develop a strategic product roadmap
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on functional design, test cases, and knowledge base articles specific to our Workday Payroll and Time Tracking solutions
- Support governance efforts and coordinate regular meetings with HR clients, vendors, and global IT partners
- Track the performance of system integrators and vendors using contractual key performance indicators (KPIs), initiating and overseeing improvement recommendations
