Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience exceeding degree prerequisites
- Strong expertise in On-Prem / Private Cloud Infrastructure services, particularly converged and hyperconverged infrastructure
- In-depth knowledge of VMWare virtualization components, including NSX and VRealize
- Preferred experience as a Sr. Storage Administrator/Engineer
- Proficient working with storage solutions such as VxBlock, VxRail, Netapp, VSAN, and networking appliances (Cisco)
- Preferred experience as a Senior Virtualization Administrator/Engineer
- Familiarity with Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) and Public Cloud IaaS (Azure)
- Preferred knowledge in automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
- Understanding of main operating systems (Linux and Windows) and middleware (application servers, web servers, databases)
- Basic knowledge of development and scripting is preferred
- Experience with technology projects like Data Transformation assessments, Infrastructure strategies and roadmaps, Data Center refreshes is an asset
- Proven experience delivering multiple end-to-end solutions and overseeing them throughout their lifecycle (inception, planning, design, implementation, operational turnover, patch/maintenance, decommissioning)
Responsibilities
- Design and develop IT Infrastructure Compute and Storage components
- Perform system integration, capacity management, and performance monitoring
- Continuously automate processes during both development and operations
- Create prototypes to validate designs and delivery patterns
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Development, Operations, Compliance, Security, etc.
- Understand and apply principles, theories, and concepts relevant to the profession and ERCOTs culture
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members
- Communicate team goals effectively through strong written and verbal skills
- Execute end-to-end testing for various non-functional requirements
- Resolve design and development issues creatively and effectively
- Research, evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance product development and platform operations
- Provide management with insights and recommendations based on expertise
- Enhance technical proficiency in key areas
