Requirements
Must:
- Experience with Information Technology systems, particularly Microsoft Operating Systems and Office solutions, including installation, configuration, operation, and repair
- Preferred experience in MS Server Administration, though not mandatory
- Ability to offer technical support and troubleshoot issues related to personal computer hardware, software applications, peripheral devices, mobile devices, and network components
- Proficient in installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, terminals, printers, and other peripheral equipment
- Skills in deploying and configuring network hardware and software in alignment with departmental IT standards and security protocols
- Experience acting as a point of contact for IT Help Desk, delivering timely technical support and assistance to sworn and civilian staff
- Competence in logging, tracking, and managing service requests and incidents using a help desk ticketing system for accurate documentation and swift resolution
- Capability to provide training and support to departmental personnel on effective use of computer systems, mobile technologies, and network applications
- Willingness to assist with system updates, software installs, and device configurations to uphold operational readiness and security compliance
- Readiness to undertake additional technical support and IT-related tasks as assigned
Responsibilities
- Assist a local public safety agency through a part-time position, with the possibility to transition to full-time
- Provide essential technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues
- Manage installations, configurations, tests, and maintenance of IT equipment including desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Deploy and adjust network components according to IT security policies and standards
- Act as a liaison for the IT Help Desk, ensuring timely response to technical inquiries from personnel
- Maintain thorough documentation of service requests and incidents for effective tracking and resolution
- Offer training to staff on the usage of IT systems and technology
- Support system updates and compliance initiatives to ensure operational efficiency
- Take on further IT-related tasks and responsibilities as they arise
Description
We are a dedicated public safety agency offering a part-time role that may evolve into a full-time opportunity. Our team is committed to maintaining high standards in technology support, providing assistance to sworn and civilian personnel. We ensure competitive compensation, with pay ranging from $26.00 to $30.00 per hour for approximately 20 hours a week. This position requires in-person work to foster collaboration and efficiency within our team.
