We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience in IT support or help desk roles, possessing a solid understanding of computer hardware, software troubleshooting, and various operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux. Familiarity with VPNs, LANs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting methods is essential. Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy for incident management is also necessary. An understanding of computer networking concepts, including LAN setup and troubleshooting, is required. Strong communication skills are crucial to convey technical issues clearly to non-technical users. The ideal candidate should be capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. A customer service-oriented mindset focused on delivering timely solutions is important. Certifications in networking or support, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications, are advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide technical assistance for desktop and laptop computers operating on Windows, macOS, and Linux. You will troubleshoot hardware issues related to computer components and peripherals, and resolve software problems including troubleshooting and application support through tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, and Help Desk systems. Additionally, you will assist with network-related challenges including LAN configuration, firewall settings, and VPN connectivity. Supporting users with operating system configurations, Microsoft Office applications, and various productivity tools will also be part of your duties. You will manage and escalate complex issues related to firewall settings or network security to the appropriate teams. Documenting support requests and resolutions accurately within ticketing systems is essential, along with effective communication with clients and team members to diagnose issues and offer clear solutions. You will also be expected to stay informed about current IT trends, operating system updates, and security protocols to uphold best practices.
