Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a related field with focus on heat transfer or thermal sciences - Over 5 years of experience in thermal engineering - Proven experience in designing, manufacturing, and testing spaceflight thermal control systems through all modes of heat transfer, both active and passive - Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

- Oversee and lead the Thermal Systems Engineering section, managing requirements, allocations, top-level architecture, validation & verification, integration & testing, risk management, anomaly resolution, and flight monitoring for thermal control subsystems of spacecraft and payloads - Organize and execute training, development, and daily task assignments for a team of 4-7 engineers, including hiring, conducting performance assessments, enhancing productivity, and fostering professional growth - Guarantee the relevance, quality, and integrity of the technical outputs from the section, ensuring adherence to schedules and budget constraints - Boost the sections technical capabilities by developing or integrating new analytical or laboratory tools and enhancing knowledge management practices - Identify and support research and development initiatives - Strengthen engagement with existing and prospective clients, promoting teamwork between section staff, department colleagues, and partners throughout Aerospace
