Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related technical field
- Proven experience in Space Domain Awareness (SDA) or space control mission areas
- A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible engineering or scientific experience
- Proficient in modeling, simulation, analysis, and/or algorithm design
- Experience leading the development of software tools and simulations for interdisciplinary analysis
- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, C, or FORTRAN
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and effectively with government and contractor personnel
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance, U.S. citizenship is required for this
- For Senior Member Technical Staff candidates, at least 4 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Advanced technical degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a similar field is preferred
- Current TS/SCI clearance is advantageous.
- Knowledge of command and control systems is desirable.
- Experience with Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensors for missile warning and defense is a plus.
- Operational background as an orbit analyst or space control operator is beneficial.
- Familiarity with electronic warfare and passive RF collection modeling is a plus.
- Experience with space surveillance network operations is valued.
Responsibilities
- Provide astrodynamic analytical assistance and algorithm development for space surveillance systems
- Conduct comprehensive analyses utilizing modeling and simulation tools
- Evaluate electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), and radar sensor concepts and architectures
- Execute assessments on space protection and threat vulnerability
- Assist in exercises related to space systems and define training needs
- Apply modeling and simulation processes for mission operations
- Contribute to risk and resilience evaluations on satellite operations amidst various threats
- Address other departmental focus areas including modeling and evaluations of kinetic threats
- Conduct independent evaluations and lead studies with analytical teams
