Requirements
Must:
- Advanced degree in mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science, or related field; or a bachelors degree with eight years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in Space Domain Awareness (SDA) or related mission areas or MW/MT/MD mission areas
- Understanding of electronic warfare and directed energy effects
- Experience in modeling, simulation, analysis, and/or algorithm development
- Led development of computational tools and simulations for interdisciplinary support teams
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, C, or FORTRAN
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work independently and engage effectively with high-ranking government officials, Aerospace personnel, and contractors
- Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship to obtain
Responsibilities
- Participate in risk and resilience assessments addressing various threats to satellite operations, including RF and optical interference and counterspace threats
- Assist with department focus areas, which may involve modeling and risk assessments of kinetic threats like debris, collision, and disposal, along with Space Domain Awareness and mission operations
- Execute a variety of analyses utilizing modeling, simulation, and analytical capabilities, including both in-house and commercially available tools
- Evaluate concepts, architectures, and algorithms related to electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), radar, and passive RF sensors
- Directly assist the technical lead on modeling and simulation efforts for the Space Security and Defense Program by providing analytical support and mentoring early career engineers
- Conduct independent evaluations and lead studies with teams of analysts
