Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related STEM field, particularly in Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Imaging Science, Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Optical, or Electrical Engineering - Eight years of relevant post-graduate experience in collaborative software development, numerical methods, and/or physics-based modeling - Proficiency in programming and version control, preferably with C++, Python, and Git - Strong communication skills with the ability to translate engineering requirements into software specifications - Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship - For a Senior Engineering Specialist role, a minimum of twelve years of relevant experience is necessary, along with leadership and mentorship experience, particularly in EO sensors modeling and simulation.

Responsibilities

- Develop robust, well-documented software for high-fidelity modeling and simulation of electro-optical (EO) sensors - Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to create modular, physics-based modeling code to assess system performance against various criteria - Adhere to software development standards and industry best practices - Identify areas for enhancing performance, maintainability, or testing in both new and existing software - Work in partnership with the Aerospace Mod & Sim enterprise to ensure tool interoperability within larger simulation frameworks.
