Requirements
Must:
- PhD degree from an accredited program in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field (either conferred or in progress within the last 12 months)
- 0-1 year of relevant industry experience
- Familiarity with research or manufacturing settings
- Understanding of physics and testing related to electrostatic discharge or plasma-material interaction
- Knowledge of electrical systems and data acquisition methods
- Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance issued by the U.S. government, requiring U.S. citizenship
- Submission of academic transcripts is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical assessments, research and development, risk analysis, and anomaly resolution through experimental laboratory work
- Provide direct support to scientists and engineers within the Electric Propulsion & Plasma Science section, engaging with other internal support teams as required
- Employ a diverse range of practical laboratory and research competencies
- Design, build, instrument, and troubleshoot new experiments while maintaining existing setups
- Enhance capabilities and preparedness for the Electric Propulsion & Plasma Science test infrastructure
- Adapt to new responsibilities and tasks as customer needs evolve
- Be open to a changing array of duties and additional responsibilities as necessary.
