Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related STEM field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in system security or information security engineering
- Proven track record as a system security engineer or information security engineer
- Strong background in mission definition, functional decomposition, requirements allocation, system design, and system lifecycle
- Ability to assess threats and vulnerabilities, including risk determination based on impact
- Experience in managing project requirements, schedules, and budgets
- Hands-on experience with security systems like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and log management
- Knowledge of network security and networking technologies, as well as system monitoring tools
- Deep understanding of contemporary security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Familiarity with web technologies and networking protocols
- Strong analytical skills with a capacity to devise solutions in high-pressure situations
- Capability to obtain and retain a security clearance from the US government
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor security measures to safeguard computer systems, networks, and data
- Advise on strategies for addressing ground and space cybersecurity vulnerabilities
- Provide cybersecurity support for critical decision points and assess security events
- Define and articulate system security requirements
- Create and design computer security architecture with detailed cybersecurity specifications
- Draft and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Engage in risk management activities to evaluate cybersecurity risks and apply effective mitigations
- Review cybersecurity test procedures for compliance with requirements, including participation in Test Readiness Reviews
- Involve in planning and executing Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO)
- Configure and manage security infrastructure devices
- Develop innovative security solutions and tools to alleviate vulnerabilities and automate processes
- Produce comprehensive reports detailing assessment findings, outcomes, and recommendations for system security improvements
