Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in software, IT systems, and associated technologies.
- At least 5 years of working with cloud technologies.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one public cloud service provider (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Comprehensive understanding and proven experience with well-architected cloud principles: operational excellence, performance efficiency, security, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Experience in designing, architecting, and evolving cloud systems to support user needs.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients to identify requirements and develop cloud solutions accordingly.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% to various work locations or conferences, if necessary.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with DoD, IC, and Civil space mission owners to grasp their cloud technology use cases and mission requirements.
- Liaise with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) to comprehend their technologies and assist the government and contractors in effectively adopting them.
- Serve as a technical lead on prototyping initiatives to showcase and assess cloud technologies for space mission applications.
- Provide recommendations and reference architectures for cloud implementations within the space sector.
- Conduct thorough reviews of customer mission system cloud architectures.
- Develop strategies for transitioning customer mission systems to the cloud.
- Estimate and optimize cloud costs for customer mission systems.
- Share best practices and knowledge within Aerospace Corporations cloud solution architect community.
- Create and present information to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
