Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in engineering, science, or a related field
- At least 12 years of progressively responsible professional experience with a proven record in one or more of the following areas:
- Engineering of spacecraft, instruments, and/or ground systems
- Mission readiness and/or flight operations for space missions
- Science and/or operational data processing, distribution, and archival
- Application of spaceborne data in civil or military contexts (e.g., weather forecasts, agricultural production)
- Program and/or project management experience
- Willingness to travel occasionally to work locations or customer sites domestically (approximately 10%)
- Ability to work on-site at NASA GSFC or the Aerospace office in Greenbelt, MD
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with mission stakeholders to identify their most significant risks and challenges; coordinate with Aerospace, contractors, and government contributors to address these issues
- Provide technical leadership for flight and/or ground system concepts, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, operations, and sustainment
- Team with Aerospaces Engineering and Technology Group to create proofs of concept and prototypes showcasing innovative solutions
- Support relevant data collection, analysis, evaluation, anomaly identification, resolution, and risk assessment
- Assist customers in monitoring system performance at the enterprise level
- Aid the government in planning, managing, and executing programs and projects
- Deliver regular reports to SMD customers and Aerospace senior management, emphasizing results and their impact on challenges faced
