Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering) or equivalent
- 8+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience
- Proven leadership skills in developing system-level analysis tools
- Exhibited emotional intelligence
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Proficient in system modeling software (Matlab, JAVA, or Simulink)
- Experience providing technical advice to management
- Expertise in Power Systems Design
- Familiarity with bus power regulators
- Capable of constructing a system-level model of a DC/DC power bus with loads and sources
- Ability to analyze and design within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment
- Strong skills in circuit analysis, testing, and troubleshooting
- Willingness to travel domestically (approximately 10% to 25% of the time if required)
- Must be eligible for and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain SCI Top Secret clearance
- Advanced degree in a STEM field (preferably Electrical Engineering) or equivalent for Senior Power Systems Engineer position
- 12+ years of increasingly responsible engineering experience for Senior position
- Deep understanding of satellite and/or launch vehicle power systems
- Familiarity with reviewing energy balance analyses across power system architectures
- Distinguished, proven technical leader with a successful industry track record.
Responsibilities
- Conduct power system level energy balance, energy depletion, and harness voltage drop analyses for satellite and launch vehicle development, including launch and initialization support
- Generate system-level power models and perform independent reviews of contractor space vehicle or launch vehicle systems
- Analyze and identify system margin and operational constraints
- Collaborate within a multidiscipline team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to produce system-level analysis data products
- Produce clear and precise reports documenting findings and progress
- Present findings and insights to clients and leadership
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for clients, providing technical support for design verification and system health checks
- Maintain design and analysis standards for the space industry
- Assess and review internal and external system designs, delivering independent analysis and technical evaluations
- Identify design deficiencies and offer viable solutions
- Mentor and provide guidance to early-career engineers
- Prepare written and verbal updates for peers, program offices, and leadership
- Flexibility to adapt responsibilities as needed.
