Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years in prototype development or technology integration
- Proficient in mission concept formulation, requirements flow-down, and technology evolution
- Experience with the entire systems engineering life cycle, including practical lab work
- Current Secret clearance, with eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI
- For Engineering Specialist: 8 years of total experience
- Strong skills in delivering technical presentations and reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering initiatives for prototype development from concept through to integration and testing in a nimble team setting (10-20 staff)
- Act as the Systems Engineer/Integrator for systems that combine Aerospace payloads and commercial small satellite platforms
- Oversee system architecture, requirements formulation, and key technical determinations across electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and other domains
- Produce and maintain essential systems engineering artifacts, including interface control documents, design evaluations, and verification/validation plans
- Supervise integration, testing, and delivery, ensuring system readiness and performance via functional checks, environmental tests, spacecraft commissioning, and mission operations
- Collaborate with local program offices and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate prototype development and support effective technology transition to government or industry programs
