Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development or designing embedded systems
- Profound technical knowledge with practical experience in at least two of the following: embedded systems, software development, edge AI, or FPGA design
- Familiarity with leading hardware platforms and tool suites such as AMD/Xilinx, Altera, Microchip, and ST Microelectronics
- Competence with standard embedded interfaces like I2C, SPI, GPIO, UART, etc.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%
- This position mandates the ability to secure and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship
- For the Engineering Specialist role, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in embedded software development is necessary
- Capability to translate and convey complex technical information to both internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record of identifying opportunities, spearheading proposals, and successfully executing awarded projects
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software solutions for assessing novel processors and cutting-edge on-board processing systems
- Swiftly create and test embedded software prototypes on Linux-based SoCs, embedded GPUs, FPGAs, application-specific accelerators, microcontrollers, or other advanced processors
- Collaborate with engineers company-wide to assess and enhance algorithms for embedded implementations
- Engage in diverse application areas including image processing, signal processing, and AI/ML algorithms for compact embedded solutions
- Work alongside Aerospaces small satellite team to showcase applications in orbit
- Partner with Aerospace Corporation scientists to assess and test embedded processor radiation susceptibility and establish mitigation strategies
- Initiate and execute research projects focused on emerging technologies to enhance the departments offerings and knowledge base
- Actively interact with internal and external clients by presenting project updates, technical discoveries, and demonstrations
