Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field, majoring in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Minimum of 3 years of professional experience relevant to cybersecurity. - Demonstrated ability to conduct system security analyses and effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Knowledge of identifying, assessing, and evaluating security risks, including the ability to analyze trade-offs and propose suitable risk response strategies. - Experience supporting NASA flight operations and familiarity with NASA operational procedures. - Prior collaboration with NASA centers. - Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% to work locations or client sites. - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

- Engage with stakeholders to clarify and document security objectives, protection requirements, assurance needs, and security criteria, including measures of effectiveness (MOEs) and measures of performance (MOPs). - Define system security requirements and create comprehensive verification methods. - Capture essential system security data through processes such as NASA Engineering Insight or equivalent frameworks. - Support the NASA Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cybersecurity Process. - Develop security perspectives and viewpoints of the overall system architecture to ensure coherence with broader aerospace or defense objectives. - Identify and evaluate vulnerabilities and susceptibilities across the system lifecycle, considering inherent hazards and potential adversaries. - Design and plan security features and functions to preemptively and reactively manage asset protection and mitigate loss consequences. - Conduct system security analyses and interpret results to facilitate engineering trade-offs and support risk management decisions. - Assess and quantify the costs, advantages, and risks associated with various security features and functions. - Provide evidence-based insights to inform decision-making, ensuring security and trustworthiness objectives are met as required. - Act as a resource for cybersecurity during discussions related to software, hardware, and broader engineering challenges, utilizing specialized knowledge to explore viable solutions.
