Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant STEM field, especially in Remote Sensing, Imaging Science, Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Computer Science, Optical or Electrical Engineering, or analogous discipline
- Eight years of experience post-bachelors in lidar/ladar and 3D point cloud and digital elevation model processing from passive EO and synthetic aperture radar, including multi-view stereo and interferometry
- Proficiency in scientific programming and version control, particularly in C++, Python, and git
- Excellent communication skills, including creating and delivering technical presentations and simplifying complex concepts
- Willingness to travel about 10% of the time
- Ability to obtain and uphold a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Additional requirements for Senior Engineering Specialist:
- Twelve years of relevant experience post-graduation
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities
- Experience in modeling, simulation, design, data processing, calibration, characterization, phenomenology, or applications related to remote sensing systems
Responsibilities
- Innovate and implement techniques and tools for applications such as image chain modeling, lidar/ladar, 3D remote sensing, change detection, and space domain awareness, including product quality metrics, optics, calibration, and data simulation
- Execute, document, and present results of studies utilizing deterministic and probabilistic numerical analysis methodologies
- Provide guidance to government and internal Aerospace clients regarding operational and R&D performance and risks of remote sensing systems
- Present and advocate for your work to contractors and clients to inform and influence critical decisions and shape system requirements
