Requirements
Must:
- Typically requires a bachelors degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics and spacecraft trajectory design
- Experience with the creation of spacecraft mission design algorithms
- Knowledge in analyzing spacecraft performance
- Proficient in 6-DOF spacecraft simulations
- Competency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and Linux
- Experience in product delivery using version control tools like Git/GitLab
- Skilled in developing, validating, and verifying simulation models
- Strong communication abilities
- Capability to collaborate within a diverse team of NASA personnel and contractors
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork in engineering
- Aptitude for organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines independently
- Ability to compose written content and deliver presentations in meetings
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Responsibilities
- Develop and script software for NASAs Genesis Flight Mechanics Simulation tool and related applications
- Design and conduct analyses to assess the performance of various guidance algorithms
- Showcase the application of Core Flight Systems (cFS) within Genesis
- Create, integrate, and test new algorithms to evaluate vehicle and mission performance
- Connect Genesis with Core Flight Systems and other trajectory analysis tools
- Generate requirements documentation for mission design outputs
- Suggest enhancements to design and software development practices
- Fulfill additional assigned duties as needed
