Requirements

Must:
- A minimum of 10 years of full-time work experience, which may be offset by advanced degrees - At least 6 years of hands-on experience with automation tools - Minimum of 1 year in a management or leadership position - Proficient in creating and modifying Ansible playbooks and roles - Experienced in configuring and utilizing job templates, inventories, workflows, and other Ansible elements - Skilled in using automation technologies and practices such as Ansible and Terraform - Knowledge of coding and scripting languages including PowerShell, Bash, and Batch files - Possession of a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification, such as Security CE - Hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance Desired: - Familiar with managing systems and services in a virtualized environment like VMware - Experienced in security patch management and software maintenance using RedHat Satellite - Capable of integrating NetBox with automation tools - Understanding of software lifecycle and development processes - Hold a RedHat automation or administration certification - Knowledgeable about Missile Defense, DoD communication systems, and MDIOC operations - Degree in a field related to IT or Engineering

Responsibilities

- Serve as an Ansible Automation Engineer aiding the Missile Defense Agency on the IRES contract - Collaborate effectively within the environment to enhance automation capabilities in IT management - Implement automations that eliminate tedious, error-prone manual configuration tasks - Conduct troubleshooting, perform root cause analysis, and propose corrective action recommendations - Ensure system modifications align with developer documentation and configuration management practices - Provide timely status updates to team leads, managers, and stakeholders regarding tasks and troubleshooting efforts - Assist integration leads and managers in defining problems, analyzing needs, and developing requirements for implementation - Utilize the REMEDY ticketing system to document and track the problem and resolution life cycle on malfunctioning systems - Be prepared to work evening shifts and weekends as necessary to support off-hour mission activities
